New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani stated at a Tuesday news conference that city leaders 'lied' about air safety at the World Trade Center site following the September 11 attacks. Mamdani announced the release of previously sealed documents related to air quality monitoring from the months after the attacks, records stored in 68 boxes in a city office and shielded from public view for more than two decades.
