Rescue efforts underway after deadly flash flood near Nepal-Tibet border

Authorities in Nepal and Tibet are conducting rescue operations following a flash flood that swept through Himalayan river valleys on Wednesday, triggered by a glacier collapse, according to NPR. Hundreds of bodies have been recovered, and more than 1,000 people remain missing in an area where Hindu pilgrims were traveling to Mt. Kailash, a sacred peak in Chinese-held Tibet typically reached by crossing from Nepal.
